This job requires a strong understanding of current events including local, national and international stories. Knowledge of the local Washington, DC market is a highly desireable plus. - Administrative Assistant - Newsroom: W*USA 9 is seeking an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant for the Newsroom. The Administrative Assistant provides the News Director and the Newsroom staff with high level, confidental administrative support and is responsible for Newsroom administration and services including accounts payable, human resources, payroll, procurement/inventory, budget preparation and oversight and other business issues. Helps to manage the day-to-day administrative operations including but not limited to supervising the office work flow and planning and participating in special events and projects. Coordinates office services including utilities, office services and supplies, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, etc. The incumbent also provides administrative assistance to the News Director by answering telephone calls, scheduling, preparing and initiating correspondence and reports, scheduling travel, appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Executive Producer: W*USA 9, the CBS affiliate in Washington, DC is looking for a News Executive Producer who's highly skilled, highly motivated, and multi-platform oriented. The Executive Producer will head up teams that generate compelling local content, not only for newscasts, but for the web, mobile, digital channels and any other platform necessary. Must have the skills to play a key leadership role in an innovative newsroom. Will participate in the strategic planning/development of the teams' content and delivery to target audiences. Expcted to participate in the execution of promotional annoucements on air and on the web.
- Multimedia Photojournalist: W*USA 9 and wusa9.com, the Gannett CBS affiliate in Washington, DC is looking for a true Photojournalist who can shoot, write, edit, and run a live truck. 9 News Now is building an Information Center full of journalists that have beats and work with a progressive digital team. Strong candidates understand how news video exists on three screens (television, internet, mobile), and are prepared to produce all three. Photojournalists operate various microwave/edit remote trucks for live coverage events as needed, plus run standard field operating equipment (ENG/DNG) and all issued video/audio support accesory gear.
- Newscast Producer (11PM): W*USA, the CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, is looking for a News Producer who will be responsibile for the daily compilation of newscast elements, including writing, editing and producation.
