NEW!  Participation in the Conservatory program is available to all AFTRA and/or SAG local members in good standing - absolutely FREE of charge!  That's right.  Annual Conservatory membership dues are no longer required to attend Conservatory workshops.  If you're an active, paid AFTRA or SAG member, you can attend all the workshops you want -- FREE!

If you're new to the business, or an established veteran...whether you're a broadcaster or freelancer...or if you work on camera, off-camera, or on stage...you'll find a Conservatory workshop that will benefit you.  (These workshops are for educational purposes and do not constitute AFTRA or SAG endorsement of any product, service or provider.)

REGISTRATION INFORMATION 

Did You Know... AFTRA/SAG Conservatory workshops are a highly valued Union member benefit because they give you the opportunity to learn from the best in the business -- top performers and experts with real-world experience and advice!  What's more, the skills you gain, and the contacts you make through Conservatory workshops, can make a big difference in your ability to get more work.  

To register for a Conservatory Workshop, call or email the coordinator listed for the workshop of your choice.  You will need to provide your name, AFTRA or SAG member number, and contact phone numbers.  Class enrollment fills quickly and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so please don't delay.  You can register for and attend as many workshops as you like each session, but you must be an "active" AFTRA and/or SAG member (i.e. you must be current in your dues payments to the Baltimore-Washington local).  If you have any questions about your membership status, plase contact the AFTRA/SAG office.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

To attend a workshop, you must register in advance.  Space is limited.  All workshop participants MUST pre-register to reserve a place.  Please do no show up for a workshop without calling the proper coordinator and making a reservation in advance.

As mentioned earlier, many workshops fill up quickly and have waiting lists for registration - so it's important to register early and cancel if you are unable to attend.  Barring a major emergency, such as an accident, illness, or death in the family, all registrants must cancel at least 2 full business days in advance of the workshop. (For example, for a Monday night workshop, you must cancel by 9 p.m. on the preceding Thursday; for a Tuesday night workshop, you must cancel by 9 p.m. on the preceding Friday, etc.)  Failure to adequately register, cancel or attend a workshop will result in the suspension of your privilege to register for and attend Conservatory workshops for six full months after the date of your cancellation policy violation.  Remember: your cooperation helps make the Conservatory a success for fellow talent, presenters, coordinators - and you.

After-Hours Parking and Building Access for Workshops held after 7:00pm at AFTRA/SAG

Workshop coordinators will provide you with details on how to access the building and parking garage for any workshops held after hours at AFTRA/SAG's office:  7735 Old Georgetown Road, Suite 950, Bethesda, MD 20814.

PARKING On-site parking is available Monday-Friday in the parking garage beside the building.  We do not validate parking.  Metered parking is also available on Fairmont Avenue and surrounding streets.  There are also municipal metered garages located on Cordell Avenue, Old Georgetown Road, Woodmont Avenue, and Del Ray Avenue, which are all within walking distance of our building.  The municipal garages or street parking is suggested for those attending weekend seminars as the garage beside the building is closed.
